Happy Thanksgiving! Symphony Space and Bar Thalia will be closed from Wednesday, November 22nd until Friday, November 24th. The Box Office will reopen on Saturday, November 25th at 1pm, and Bar Thalia will reopen at 4pm that same day.

Does Symphony Space have a resident orchestra?
Symphony Space does not have a resident orchestra, but many orchestras call Symphony Space home, such as Arturo O'Farrill's Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra and the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra. American Symphony Orchestra presents their Classics Declassified series at Symphony Space, and both the Mannes Orchestra and InterSchool Orchestras perform at Symphony Space multiple times a year.


Does Symphony Space rent its theatres?
Yes. The Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, Leonard Nimoy Thalia and Thalia Studio are available to rent for performances, rehearsals and more. Many artists self-produce. For more information, see our Theatre Rental section.


What are the seating capacities of these theatres?
Peter Jay Sharp Theatre seats 760 and Leonard Nimoy Thalia seats 172. All seating in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia is general admission. For a Peter Jay Sharp Theatre seating chart, please see our seating charts.

Is there parking near the theatre?

There are many parking garages located just a few steps away from our doorsteps. Among them, 240 Riverside Parking and Convenient Parking both provide easy and reasonably-priced access to our venue.


Is Peter Norton Symphony Space accessible for persons with disabilities? In the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, infrared hearing devices are available from the house manager. Patrons requiring wheelchair locations, or aisle seats to transfer to/from a wheelchair, should inform the box office when purchasing tickets. Restrooms are wheelchair accessible.


Whom do I contact regarding items left at Peter Norton Symphony Space during a show?
Lost and Found is handled by the Theatre Administrator. Inquiries can be made at 212.864.1414, x204 or email ed.budz@symphonyspace.org. Weekend inquiries will generally not be answered until the following Tuesday.

Weekend emergencies (lost wallet, keys, expensive jewelry etc.) can sometimes be attended to by calling the House Manager at 212.864.1414 x209 or emailing brian.davis@symphonyspace.org. Unclaimed items are disposed of after 30 days.


If I'm late for a show, when will I be admitted?
Latecomers will be admitted and/or seated at the discretion of management. Reserved seat locations are not guaranteed past curtain time.


Can I bring my children to a show?
Policies vary for different shows regarding admittance of children under five. Please inquire before purchasing tickets.


Is there a coat check?
There is no coat check area.
