NASO RETURNS! Guest Conductor Alex Wen returns to lead NASO’s return to the concert hall and begins by consecrating the hall (Beethoven’s Consecration of the House). Alex most recently served as assistant conductor of the Massapequa Philharmonic and the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony and concluded five seasons as Principal Conductor of the Golden Rose Opera. Also returning is soloist Grace Han who previously dazzled our audiences with electrifying performances of Beethoven’s Emperor and Rachmaninoff’s Third piano concertos. For this outing the always amazing Grace has chosen the wonderful Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 2—enjoy the unusual opening by the solo piano, The program concludes with Tchaikovsky’s monumental and often melancholy Symphony No. 5.
