Tom Wolfe celebrates the 40th anniversary of his now classic portrait of Ken Kesey and his cohort of hippies, The Merry Pranksters, by discussing the book with novelist Rick Moody. Join us as we return to that LSD-fueled, cross-country trip from the summer of 1964 aboard the groovy psychedelic-painted school bus. Both superbly reported and sublimely entertaining, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test was called “Day-Glo book; illuminating, merry, surreal!” by The Washington Post. Tony Award-winning actor René Auberjonois will perform an excerpt from the book.
