  Take Out

“The season’s freshest, most sympathetic movie about making your way in modern-day Manhattan.” -The New York Times

USA. Sean Baker & Shih-Ching Tsou. 88 min. Color. In Mandarin and English with subtitles.

When an illegal immigrant finds himself behind on a large debt due to crooks who smuggled him into the country, he must come up with the payment in one day by hustling tips as he delivers Chinese food around New York City. Shot in vérité style, this provocative and grimly humorous look at a day in the life of the working poor also stars Jeng-Hua Yu and Justin Wan.

Take Out
Mr Lichtman, I'm not sure you understand how the business of independent film works. There is no profit from a New York release. In actuality, the filmmakers take a loss. If there is dollar one seen from the release of this film, efforts will be made to allow free screenings to the community.

Take Out
I am probably not the first to wonder if you are not offering free tickets for delivery workers from Chinese restaurants for the film Take Out and making a point of leafletting about it to those workers.
